Domestic life at Villa Marcory plays out around a central courtyard bringing the focus on nature and the outdoors inside. The concept of this project was extracted from a narrative text written by the client imagining a day in the family life. The 6x6m central space is key in allowing the family to feel each other’s presence through the house. It is also a source of light into the 600m2 main building which sits on a closed off plot of land. Two other elements are placed in relation to the main house, a cylinder building focused on play and a rectangular service bar integrated into the enclosing wall. These three elements complement each other and are tied in by the landscaped garden. The project is designed according to the rules of Feng Shui, a requirement of the clients which dictated the placement of the lap pool in the back of the house. The project was completed with a focus on high-quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship, ensuring every detail contributes to the villa’s serene and luxurious atmosphere.
